This is why we study the

LIFE OF CHRIST

Many of us may not fully grasp the amount of lessons that are in Jesus’ life. Initially, we think of birth, death, and resurrection. However, Jesus’ life holds so much more wisdom and amp’t believes the Chronological account of Jesus can give us everything we need to get closer to God.

we estimated the L.O.C. lessons to last 3-4 years. Inside these lessons are many different series. And so, the plan is to use the “Life of Christ” again when we finish. Adding different themes and activities, but sticking with the same lessons is the goal.

SESSIONS

The idea of repetition is so important when learning life lessons and new things. This is why we take one lesson and apply it across the entire week. Anytime the child is around the church (building and people) we try to teach that lesson through different teachers, activities, settings, and lifestyles

Disciple Cards (L.O.C. PIx)

One way to help the youth apply these lessons in their lives is with a disciple card. This take-home accountability worksheet is to help remind them through the week of what they are working on to become closer to God. When the student returns with the disciple card they are rewarded for the completion of the different sections. There are 6 sections: the picture, the memory verse, the questions, daily prayer, daily reading, and daily worship. The reward is a Christ-like coin for each section. In all actuality, the reward is so much more “spiritually”.

CHRIST-LIKE COINS

These coins are used to reward the youth for their Christ-like behavior. It is so important to strive to “be Jesus” in this fallen world. Prayerfully this idea can turn into a habit that is displayed inside and out of the church building. These coins can be used to purchase items at the amp’t store/snack shack.

AMP’T STORE

The amp’t store is designed to reward the youth with their hard work and focus on being Christ-Like. The store is only open on the last Sunday of every month. It might be open on Wednesday night (still under consideration).

The items that can be purchased are under many categories: school supplies, games, toys, treats, stuffed animals, apparel.

WHAT’S NEW!

College care package

The worship stations for Children’s church will include the new College Care package station. This is a station that will have as many boxes as high school graduates from amp’t youth ministry. The idea is to send boxes to our college students to encourage them and to remind them how much we believe in them. When we fill an average size postal box, we will send it off and start on a new one. I would like to encourage you parents to help us fill these boxes full of goodies: Food, supplies, memories. During worship, the opportunity to make cards will be offered.

Right now we have five students. Each year we will be adding and subtracting. The current High school graduates are Lauren Testino, Meagan Pruitt, Morgan Pruitt, Jon Nolette. And Andrea strawderman

The amp’t snack shack

During the Sunday and Wednesday night sessions, we will open our snack shack to everyone. We will be selling crackers, cookies, candy, juice, chips, etc. The cool thing about the snack Shack is that the items can be purchased with not only money, but with Christ–like coins. A couple of things to know about the Snake shack is that the prices are not annoying, The proceeds will go toward the purchasing of more snacks, and Any overflow in the fund will go directly to the youth fund. This fund supports students who go to camp and other events.
